A fully equipped propeller repair
and maintenance shop is available
at the Curacao Drydock Company,
Inc.
Both fixed and controllable
pitch propellers of practically
all sizes can be handled by
specially trained operators
and technicians. All major repairs
and conversions are supervised
and certified by all major classification
societies and are according
ISO standards.
The equipment at the yard's
propeller shop includes up to
44 ton balancing machines, pitch
measuring equipment up to 7
m, special welding equipment,
plus all necessary grinding
and polishing tools. Polishing
of propellers is performed according
to Rupert scale.
All propeller maintenance,
repairs and conversions are
carried out under license from
the well-known Dutch propeller
makers, Lips United B.V. of
Drunen, The Netherlands where
most of the Curaçao Drydock
Company's propeller technicians
originally underwent intensive
training.
Some propeller repair and maintenance
work can also be effected while
the vessel is afloat alongside
the Yard's premises.


Metalock, the well-known
engineering method of effecting
cold repairs of cracked, fractured
or weakened machine parts of
pressure vessels made of cast
or forged materials, is carried
out at the Curaçao Drydock
Company, Inc. by a highly specialized
group of operators who are fully
equipped to handle any type
of Metalock repair.
Metalock repairs can be undertaken
either at the yard workshops
of "in situ" on board
ships. The yard's Metalock division
is also in position to effect
Metalock repairs anywhere in
the Netherlands Antilles and
in most other Caribbean islands
on ship or at industrial sites,
refineries. Power and water
plants, etc.

of pour able cast resin chocks.
Chockfast is an epoxy
based pour able compound that
cures at normal temperatures
to become an extremely tough
and durable solid.
Chockfast was originally
developed for chocking marine
main propulsion machinery and
Chockfast since its introduction
in is the only one to have
earned the approval of all major
classification societies around
the world.
Chockfast can be used
instead of steel chocks or cement
grout for mounting diesels,
turbines, auxiliaries, compressors
and other high-temperature,
precisely aligned machinery.
